Born and raised in Cranbrook, BC, Charlie Willis, owner of Kootenay Tree Farms, was first introduced to the world of Christmas tree farming through his family who have been in the industry since 1940. Growing up helping out his father, Charlie developed a keen interest to learn how things grow and found that by looking after the environment in which the trees grow, the quality of the trees also improved. Through his love for nature and his desire to continue working with trees in an eco-conscious manner, Charlie followed in his father’s footsteps and founded Kootenay Tree Farms.
For over 35 years, Kootenay Tree Farms has proudly grown premium quality “Natural Stand” Douglas Fir available for wholesale purchase to retailers throughout British Columbia, Alberta and throughout Canada as well as to non-profit organizations for fundraising purposes. Year after year, we continue to supply our happy customers with healthy, fragrant, deep-green Christmas trees produced in a mountain environment through thoughtful and responsible wildland stewardship.
